About Rosie Posies

Our curriculum

Curriculum Intention

Our curriculum is designed to give every child the best start in life. We want children to be curious, confident and kind. We want to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes children need to thrive throughout their education and beyond. We focus on:

  • Communication and language – building vocabulary, confidence and a love of conversation
  • Personal, Social and Emotional Development – supporting self-regulation, independence and empathy.
  • Physical development – promoting strength, co-ordination and healthy habits

As well as ensuring our environment and teaching supports developing mathematical awareness and literacy skills.

Being in the heart of the countryside, knowledge and understanding of the world we live in is high on our agenda as well as developing creativity in children.

We are intentional about inclusion making sure that every child, including those with SEND experience success and belonging.

Curriculum Implementation

Our curriculum is broad and balanced and is delivered through play-based learning rooted in strong relationships. We plan from children’s next steps and interests as well as introducing children to new ideas/concepts that come up through the year.

We have completed the Hygge accreditation and understand how important it is for children to have a calm environment as well as deep rooted understanding of our natural envioroment.

We use;

- consistent routines and a rich environment that promote independence and curiosity

- high quality interactions – practitioners modelling language, extending thinking and scaffolding new skills

-Ongoing observation to reflect and shape next steps

-Strong partnerships with parents to build continuity between home and setting

Inclusion is embedded in everything we do and includes adapations; visual supports and multi sensory experiences.

Curriculum Impact

Children leave us as:

  • Confident communicators, able to express themselves and listen to others
  • Emotionally secure, with developing self-regulation and resilience
  • Curious learners, with a deep connection to the outdoors.
  • Independent and ready for the next stage of their learning, with a sense of pride in who they are.

We measure impact through observation, dialogue and children’s engagement – not just data,

Our goal is for every child to achieve belong and thrive.
